originally they wanted to build 12 reactors, the building from the accident has the first 4 of the project, reactor 4 exploded (reactor4.be ;-). This was the building for reactor 5 & 6, build during the time of the accident. Right after the accident they stopped working, so its there now for 23 years now...

No, they left everything they used there. It was too contaminated to take it out of the area.

so those cranes there are in that place since the construction of the 5-6 reactor's building, and they left them there...? i was thinking that they were using them to build the 'sarcophagus'... by the way i L O V E your work and your pics.. are amazing!!

Nono, the sarcophagus is only build around reactor 4 and thats another building (with reactor 1 - 2 - 3 and 4)... this is building for reactor 5 and 6, in construction during the disaster... they stopped working and left the cranse because they where highly contaminated... btw -> thx for your feedback ;-)
